The Garden of Friendship
By Siya Shree

In a colourful garden, where roses danced and the sweet smell of flowers filled the air, lived two beautiful fairies – Sia and Mia.
Sia was a gentle fairy, and she had shining blue wings. She had the power of ice and snow. Sia loved to make tiny snowflakes, which little squirrels loved to play with in the garden.
On the other hand, Mia had golden wings, and she had the power of warmth. Wherever she went, she spread comfort and cheer. She loved helping plants grow and making flowers bloom. Sia and Mia were best friends. They balanced each other. They made sure that the garden was a safe and cheerful place.

Sia and Mia were best friends. They balanced each other. They made sure that the garden was a safe and cheerful place.
One day, dark clouds covered the sky.
The wind howled, and the cheerful garden suddenly grew dim. Out of the shadows appeared a monster. He had green, slimy skin, red fiery eyes, and three horns.
He was angry because no one wanted to be near him. Everywhere he went, people ran away from his slimy skin and scary horns. The monster thought if he destroyed things, maybe someone would finally notice him.

He stomped on the flowers and snapped the branches. The butterflies hid behind leaves, the rabbits scurried into their burrows, and even the tall trees seemed to shiver.
“STOP IT!” screamed Sia. “The garden is our home.”
The monster didn’t stop. He roared and stomped harder, destroying everything in sight.

Sia’s heart pounded, but she stood her ground. Mia flew beside her, her golden wings glowing like sunlight in the gloom.
Together they said, “We won’t let you destroy our home.”
The battle started. The monster hurled a fireball at Sia, but she quickly raised her hands, freezing the flames into glittering ice. The monster snarled and tried again.
Sia’s snow and frost wrapped around him, freezing him in place.
Mia flew closer to the monster and saw his eyes wide with discomfort. She used her powers to melt the ice and relieve him. The monster felt better. For the first time, he felt kindness. This melted his heart.
“Kindly don’t destroy our garden. You too can live here,” said Mia softly.
The monster blinked in disbelief.
