Chapter 1
It’s the Day

Guppy and Mitten dashed down the stairs, their tails wagging and whiskers twitching with excitement. Halloween night had finally arrived! The streets outside were glowing with spooky decorations, jack-o'-lanterns, and cobweb-covered porches. They couldn’t wait to join the moonlit trick-or-treat fun.
They rushed to see what Alice had brought for the big night. As she stepped into the room, they spotted her carrying a basket full of goodies eyeball candies and sour gummy worms. Their favorites!
Guppy barked happily, and Alice laughed as she tossed him a couple of eyeball candies. Mitten twirled around Alice’s legs, purring loudly, and received some gummy worms in return. The Halloween adventure had officially begun!
Chapter 3
Trick or Treat

Alice giggled and knelt beside them. “Alright, you two,” she said, holding out a small map, “I’m giving you this so you can go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Be safe and have fun!”
Guppy grabbed the map gently in his mouth, and Mitten took the candy basket in her paws. Off they went, their hearts pounding with excitement as they trotted into the cool October night.
Chapter 2
The Map

Their first stop was Teddy’s house.
“Trick or treat!” They called out together.
Teddy, a big golden retriever, barked back, “You can have some extra-juicy pumpkin gummies but only if you can scare me!”
Guppy puffed up his chest and let out the loudest bark he could manage. “WOOF!”
Teddy jumped in surprise. “Yikes! That did it!” he said, laughing as he handed over the pumpkin gummies.
Mitten quickly placed them in the basket, and the two friends shouted, “Bye, Teddy!” before running off to the next house.
Their next stop was Snow’s place, a fluffy white Persian cat.
“Trick or treat!” they chimed again.
Snow smirked. “Strawberry gummies are yours but only if you can scare me!”
Mitten hissed dramatically, arched her back, and fluffed up her fur.
“Eek!” cried Snow, startled. “Okay, okay, you got me!”
They added the strawberry gummies to their stash, and Mitten gave a few to Guppy. They skipped down the sidewalk, their basket getting heavier with every stop. But their next destination looked… different. The house ahead was dark, creaky, and gave off a very spooky vibe.
Chapter 4
Haunted
Guppy and Mitten stood frozen at the doorstep. Then Mitten sniffed the air. Her eyes widened.
“Milk!” she whispered, staring at a bowl near the door. “I smell MILK!”
She sprinted to the bowl and licked it clean in seconds.
“I think there’s more milk inside, Guppy! Let’s go!”
Guppy hesitated. “No, Mitten... this doesn’t feel right.”
But it was too late. Mitten had already nudged the door open. As they stepped inside, the door slammed shut behind them with a loud BANG!
“What was that?” Mitten gasped.
Before Guppy could answer, a deep, creepy voice echoed through the house: “Shutdown.”
Suddenly, all the lights went out.
Mitten jumped so high she nearly hit the ceiling, and Guppy whimpered so loudly it echoed through the dark halls.
Mitten whispered, “I should’ve controlled my love for milk…”
Guppy nodded, shivering. “Yes… you really should have!”
They curled up together in the darkness, missing Alice and their candy-filled adventure.
Chapter 5
Believe it or not

Just as they began to drift off in fear and exhaustion, the door creaked open again.
Guppy peeked out from behind a dusty chair. Mitten curled into a tight ball.
A tall, shadowy figure stepped into the room. It had braided hair in wild colors—pink, red, and blue. It looked like… a monster!
“Please don’t eat us!” Guppy cried. “We’re not tasty at all!”
The figure chuckled. “Don’t worry, little furballs. Let’s get you into a room for the night.”
Guppy looked at Mitten. “Aren’t monsters supposed to be… scary and mean?”
“I thought so too…” Mitten whispered.
The monster gently led them into a cozy room and shut the door.
Guppy and Mitten huddled together and soon fell asleep.

Chapter 6
A Friendly Surprise
A while later, Guppy woke up to the sound of footsteps and a familiar voice.
“Guppy? Mitten?”
He sniffed the air he knew that scent! It was Alice!
The door opened, and a friendly shadow appeared. It wasn’t a monster at all it was Alice’s friend, Deb!
Deb laughed. “These two little troublemakers barged into my house chasing a bowl of milk. They looked so lost, I decided to keep them safe for the night.”
Alice scooped them up in her arms. “Oh Guppy, oh Mitten! I was so worried!”
The three of them headed home together, where a warm blanket and the rest of their Halloween candy were waiting.
