Bob and the Moonbot

By Artem Padwal

Once upon a time there lived a scientist named Bob. he wanted to send a robot into space. Bob looked funny because he had curly white hair. It almost made him look like a mad scientist. But in reality he was a genius. He could build a robot and spaceship anything. If he puts his mind to something, there is no way he will not achieve it.

Bob’s lab was full of half-finished inventions and he had a big dream to uncover the legendary lunar treasure said to be buried deep beneath the surface of the moon. Other scientists often made fun of him for believing in the story of hidden treasure on the Moon. But Bob’s gut told him, it wasn't just a story, but a fact.

Bob was old, that's why he could not go on the moon. So he decides to build a robot. He names him Moonbot. The moonbot has a shiny cylindrical body, strong digging arms, and camera in one eye and scanner in the other. Moonbot can survive extreme weather conditions and jump over the craters.

Once the moonbot was ready Bob spent weeks soldering wires, writing codes and testing the moonbot. Bob puts Moonbot in the small spaceship and whoosh it goes into space. After a few days it reaches the moon.

Moonbot starts to scan the surface of the moon. While he was scanning, he saw the treasure buried under a big crater near China’s flag. Moonbot digs the treasure and takes the box out. Something is engraved on the box.

“To the one who believed in the impossible- This gift is for you! Keep Dreaming.”

Bob's eyes filled with tears. He had no interest in the treasure, he was just happy that his dream of finding the treasure was at last fulfilled.
